About Oriental Wok

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Oriental Wok at (859) 331-3000; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is orientalwok.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 1,678 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded chinese restaurants in Lakeside Park.

Lakeside Park is in Kentucky, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Lakeside Park follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Came for dinner on a Thursday night. This place has a super unique atmosphere! However the food was not what I was expecting especially for the price! The chicken in my meal did not taste good at all! I hardly touched it. The beef in my husbands meal was inedibly chewy. We of course came on a night where there were many people celebrating, we were made to take a backseat to those ‘special’ tables. The service on this particular night was definitely sub par. My son’s favorite meal anywhere is rice, he got the kids fried rice meal. It was HUGE, but he didn’t even touch it. He said that it tasted funny. With this being one of the only nicer upper class Oriental food places around, it was very upsetting for what we had ordered, got served and what was paid.

If you're looking for an experience just as much as you're looking for a great meal, this is your place. I've been lucky enough to come here since I was a child. It was a pleasure to bring my kids for the first time. It was also a birthday celebration, and they exceeded my expectations. At least 6 employees, including the owner were included in our service in various ways. Every single person was kind and accommodating. Food was also great, of course. Fun atmosphere and absolutely recommend whether you're from the area or not. Thank you!

I’m probably the only person over 30 in the northern Kentucky area who hasn’t visited the Oriental Wok until now. I normally don’t frequent Chinese restaurants because I often find their food muddled, much like a lot of Mexican restaurants. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant has been here for decades and expected it to show its age inside, but again I was pleasantly surprised. The inside was fresh, clean, and vibrant, much like the food we received. We ordered crispy spring rolls which were cooked to perfection and the stuffing was seasoned perfectly. We also had a Hong Kong chicken entrée which was delicious and a three fish entree which was also delicious. Unlike so many other Chinese restaurants, you could taste each and every ingredient in both entrées. The service was impeccable. I even got a wonderful fortune cookie to top off our experience. The only complaint I have is the five dollar iced teas, but they did keep them flowing so it’s only a small complaint. We will definitely add the Oriental Wok to our regular schedule and we will be back.

Food was NOT good. Beautiful setting. Very nice place to take a date. Maybe drinks and dessert. Great atmosphere. Service was great. All the servers stopped to grab plates, give napkins, refills, etc. Very friendly. Appetizer (potstickers) was $14 and I wouldn't eat it for free. Really bad. Usually it's a mix of meat and veggies but it was a dense pressed meat. Really gross. The bowl of cracker things set out to snack on beforehand were cold little bites of grease. The Hong Kong chicken was just OK. Rice was a small bowl and too fragrant like a perfume smell or something. Cashew chicken seemed fine. Just plain but chicken was tender.

I’m new to the area and wanted to have some Chinese food with my parents before they left. While Oriental Wok isn’t the most authentic Chinese restaurant, its unique take on traditional Chinese dishes were tasty and occupy a unique medium between traditional and westernized Chinese food. I liked the ma po tofu and faan me beef. The decor is also really cool and the service was amazing.
